October 24, 2010 - Loaded by Lunchtime
Listeners were plied with an intoxicating treat on this week's Free Kick show: a live session from members of Montreal's Velvet Underground tribute, Loaded! Patrick, Jordi and Allan (pictured here) regaled us with some of VU's best-loved tunes in a stripped-down acoustic format, generating much needed white light/white heat to power this first of our CKUT 2010 Funding Drive shows.

If this inspired you to call in some support, thank you very much! If you haven't done so yet - why not make a pledge right now using the web form? There are many cool gifts available as tokens of our appreciation....

And don't forget, the full Loaded electric freak-out extravaganza will be performing at Barfly (4062 St-Laurent) on Saturday Oct. 30. Go and check them out, you won't be disappointed! Here's some video taken at a previous show to give you a taste of what to expect...

The full list of artists featured on this Sunday's show included:

The Slits (Ari Up RIP!), Roland Kirk, Chris Kenner, Lynn Collins (The Female Preacher), Studio One/Dub Specialist, Young Tiger, P.R.O. (People Rock Outfit), Don Drummond, The Nutley Brass, Screamin'Jay Hawkins, The Tigers feat. Kenny Carr, Jaipur Kawa Brass Band, Gangbe Brass Band, The Beau Brummels, John Cale, Sun City Girls, Loaded (live in the studio), Edmund Welles, Tuomari Nurmio & Alamaailman Vasarat, Storsveit Nix Nolte, Buscemi Vs. Koçani Orkestar and Intercom.
