April 25, 2009 - Free Kick is a Virus
Have you caught the fever yet? Never mind spring, Montreal was plunged directly into the middle of summer last Saturday night. The mood around town was appropriately buoyant, and we at the Free Kick were not immune to the seasonal stirrings! You can check out the list of artists we played yourself for signs of horn-iness:

April 11, 2009 - Reality Asylum
On this weekend's Free Kick show: Dave does his best to keep himself (and hopefully a few others) distracted from the horrific reality of their end-of-term situation, while Swan takes it upon herself to put the Jesus back in Easter!

March 28, 2009 - Hey Mama Here Comes the Free Kick
Springtime has definitely arrived in Montreal. The birds are singing, the doggie doo is stinking, the students are scrambling, and the temperature is rising. Isn't it nice to peel off all those layers of extra clothing and strut your stuff on the Main?

Ringing in the spring, Freekick payed tribute to New Orleans blues, soul and funk legend Eddie Bo (pictured here), who, sadly, passed away a few weeks ago. With a career that spanned five decades, there was no lack of choice for last week's edition of your favorite radio show. You can find more information about this incredible musician (and lots of his music to download) over on the great Funky 16 Corners and Home of the Groove blogs.
